How long have you had a green job for nature?

4 years

Please describe the work that you do.

I am an interdisciplinary artist, anthropologist, and adventurer with a passion for exploring nature connectedness. Over the past five years, I have conducted research across the globe and shared my knowledge as a teacher at the Public University of Navarre. I am also researching nature connectedness as my PhD.

What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?

I am passionate about creating bridges that enhance nature connectedness in different social spectrums, whether university, museums or indigenous organisations and countries. In the last year, for instance, I have had the opportunity of working in different countries from the Himalayas to London, to Costa Rica and USA. This shows my ability to work with different cultural backgrounds and bicultural sections.

What inspired you into this career?

My passion started with my love for mountains, as an alpinist I have always felt the need for nature. 5 years ago I took a career shift in focusing on environmental values which took me to be coached by the European Union on Nature Based Solutions for social interventions and the last years I have followed the Agenda 2050´s recommendations on different methodologies that have been recommended. This shows that my inspiration, the love for mountains and traveling have opened my view of what is really needed at this moment of our lives.

Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far?

Yes, sometimes being a pioneer in a field is challenging since local government and institutions may not be so familiar. However, perseverance, clear understanding a lateral thinking, make this challenges and adventure in its own.

What education/training did you have?

I hold a degree in Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, University of London and two Master’s degree in Education and Gender studies. I am also a qualified forest therapist and being coached by the European Union in Nature Based Solutions. I have been working on a PhD research nature connectedness for the last 3 years.

What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession?

Don’t be afraid to bring new ideas to institutions. The need is there and what may seem impossible can become true.
