Please describe the work that you do.

My current work focuses on the measuring of dates and rates of Earth surface processes via a multiproxy techniques. Specifically, I employ this toolset to (i) compare erosion rates on different timescales and (ii) quantify the occurrence and drivers of natural hazards relating to seismic, fluvial, and hillslope processes and, critically, human activity.

What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?

I love the fact of working along interdisciplinar team, where I deliver high-quality datasets establishing the timing and nature of climatic and tectonic signals, with the goal of helping improve both conceptual and numerical models of landscape evolution, natural hazards, and the impacts of land-use strategies in a warming world.

What inspired you into this career? 

Observing nature.

Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far? 

Being a South American young student from a country in conflict was a big challenge to face, and also that creates strength.

What education/training did you have?

PhD in Earth Sciences. Geomorphology. Geology. Natural Hazards. Landscape evolution.

What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession? 

Take care! Earth will surprise you!
