Please describe the work that you do.
I lead the charity’s work, supporting the charitable business to work to support climate and nature recovery, through community initiatives. My job is in strategic management and I work a fine balance between our board of trustees and our operations. This involves charitable governance, financial management and obtaining funding and contracts to enable us to deliver in communities and encourage community members to volunteer, take placements and support nature in their own local places
What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?
I love the variety in my work – there’s nothing I dislike about it . I also love that everything I do has a positive impact on nature and communities.
What inspired you into this career?
I grew up on a small holding in the wildness of Co Donegal and always wanted to make a difference, and to use my love of nature for greater good.
Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far?
Many challenges, but we strive to overcome them.
What education/training did you have?
O levels, A levels, training in community development plus a range of management training and nature-based training
