Please describe the work that you do.

I work across a range of projects at the intersection of GIS, biodiversity, and communication. My work includes creating maps and spatial analyses to support Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) planning, managing and standardising ecological data, and developing engaging content to share our work, from social media posts to story maps. I’m passionate about making geospatial tools accessible and impactful, especially when it comes to enhancing biodiversity and supporting nature-based solutions.

What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?

I love the flexibility, it enables me to take training courses which are very exciting and motivating.

What inspired you into this career? 

 I was pretty lucky finding this job almost immediately after graduation, so I just went with it really.

Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far? 

I would say that the main challenges stem from knowing in which direction to move towards.

What education/training did you have?

MSc in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession? 

To use platforms like Linkedin and make sure to stay connected as much as you can, out there is full of great opportunities, you just need to know about them!
