What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession?

The industry can be quite competitive, especially at early careers level. Try to get involved with special interest groups such as the British Ecological Society, the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or Wildlife Trusts. They can offer lots of really useful advice and resources to help get into the profession.
