As a Project Manager, Content Writer, and Trainer at Vericonnect, I oversee sustainable training projects, manage timelines and budgets, and coordinate teams. I create engaging content and deliver training sessions, ensuring effective communication and positive outcomes. My role bridges project management, content creation, and training to promote environmental sustainability and education.
What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?
What I most enjoy about my role at Vericonnect is the blend of project management, content creation, and hands-on training. I love collaborating with a passionate team, developing engaging materials, and directly impacting our clients’ understanding and commitment to sustainability. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a positive difference, which keeps me motivated and inspired.
What inspired you into this career?
My inspiration for this career came from a deep passion for environmental sustainability and education. I wanted to make a positive impact on the planet by creating and delivering training programs that promote sustainability. Working with like-minded professionals to drive meaningful change through education and project management has been incredibly fulfilling.
Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far?
In my career at Vericonnect, I’ve faced challenges like balancing project management, content creation, and training delivery. Meeting client expectations while ensuring quality sustainable programs can be demanding. Keeping up with the latest sustainability practices and effectively coordinating a diverse team requires strong communication and adaptability. These challenges have been valuable learning experiences, driving my growth and success.
What education/training did you have?
Initially I did an undergraduate degree in Biological Science at Maynooth University, Ireland. I then proceeded to do a MSc in Environmental Science at University College Cork, specialising in freshwater biomonitoring and citizen science. Most recently I completed a diploma in Leadership and Management at Strathfield College, Melbourne, Australia.
What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession?
My advice for someone entering this job at Vericonnect would be to develop strong time management skills to juggle project management, content creation, and training delivery. Stay curious and up-to-date with sustainability practices. Embrace collaboration and effective communication to work well with a diverse team. Lastly, be adaptable and open to learning from challenges, as they will be valuable for your growth and success.
