Private Sector
How long have you had a green job for nature?
<1 Year
Salary Range
£25,001 – £30,000
Please describe the work that you do.
I work with project managers to determine their resourcing requirements and to identify the individuals (both internal and external ecologists to the company) that would be able to fulfill them. To do this I liaise with ecologists to discuss their potential participation in project work, and the scope of the work they would be required to perform.
What do you most like about your job? Any dislikes?
Every day is different, and every day I am working on different projects, talking to different people and working on resourcing different ecological surveys! The variation is huge and keeps things fresh and interesting!
What inspired you into this career?
It was brilliant to work for a company that is contributing positively to the environment, and I really enjoy working with people and ensuring that the right people are doing the right things at the right time, so it was a perfect match!
Have you faced any challenges in progressing your career so far?
Not really! None that come to mind anyway!
What education/training did you have?
I have a Bachelors Degree in Commerce and a Masters Degree in Accounting.
What advice would you give to someone coming into the profession?
Not to worry if you don’t have a particular background in ecology. Have an inquisitive mind and try to learn a little bit each and every day and it will soon add up!
